Line of Fate (contd.)

As I mentioned in earlier blog, the line of fate is the most important line, we will now discuss more about the Line of Fate.

The start of line of fate normally shows the age at which the person starts thinking independently, about his studies and difficulties in studies, getting job, all ups and downs in the career, change of job, health which affects the career and much more.

In most cases the line of fate starts late (may be 15 years age or later), since the person becomes independent in thinking only at that age and till that time he is guided by the advice of the parents. Major difficulties in studies, like transfer of the father, change of school, starting studies in Boarding school, change of stream from Arts to Science, Science to Commerce etc. are shown in the Fate line. Marriage is shown by the marriage line, but it is also reflected in the Line of Fate and can be confirmed by the Fate line.

When a line from inside the line of life cuts the life line and then fate line, it reflects death of some one close to the person which will emotionally affect the individual a lot. There was a case where a lady had shown me the palm many times. I used to tell her that she would lose someone very close to her at her age of 34 years. She used to think of loosing her parents, her father in law or mother in law. At the age of 34 years, she lost her daughter. This really upset her for couple of years. This was indicated on the Fate line.

Whenever there is a change in the career, there is change in the angle of the Fate line or a gap in the fate line or the fate line becomes light etc. Mostly the change occurs after an interference which is shown by a line cutting the fate line. In practical sense, when there is discontent in the mind of a person, then only the person thinks of changing the job. Then it takes about 6 months to decide to change the job and to search another job. After change of job, it takes 6 months or more to settle in new job, new environment and then only the person feels feels settled and that is reflected in the fate line. This period of 1 year to 2 years is mostly shown by light fate line during this period.

There are some change in job where there is nothing changed except change of company. There are times where there is no change of job, but there is a transfer or change of responsibilities, the fate line will show this change. It depends on the affect the change will have on the fate of the individual. The promotions are also shown in the Fate line. Incase there is a big change in fate, like change of place, change of industry, change of type of job etc. the fate line may stop and after a gap it will start again or the line will become dim or dark. This gap will be the period of uncertainty which I mentioned above.

If we see the marriage line, we may find many small lines. These are lines of affection. There may be some darker line, which may be the marriage line. This can also be denoted by change in fate line at the same age, so it can be confirmed that the marriage will take place at that age.

If the Fate line is deflected at a sharp angle after reaching Heart Line, it shows that a big decision in life is taken based on what the heart feels. It may not be in the overall interest of the person. I had seen a hand of a person who had left a well settled job in a public sector bank as Manager, and took retirement under Voluntary Retirement Scheme. I saw his hand and told him that he had taken the decision, not as per the reasoning, but because of what he felt.He had worked in the Bank for long time. He wanted to remain in Mumbai where his family was living. He was posted to a place in Maharashtra and he had to go without his wife and children. He had worked for four, five years in smaller towns in Maharashtra and wanted to come back to Mumbai. One day he decided to quit and applied for VRS. This was decision taken as per his feelings or what the heart dictated, and not as per what the reasoning would allow. Subsequently, after trying few small jobs, he started working in a co-operative bank as Manager on contract basis. He got lesser salary, but the work and responsibilities were same or may be more.

Similarly, if the line of fate is deflected or is stopped at the Line of Head, the decision is taken by reasoning without taking into account emotional part of the decision. Suppose a person gets a very good job in foreign country where his position, salary and status all improve considerably. However, his wife, children and parents are not happy and he still takes up the job. This will be a decision based on what the head rules. He mayhave to, after some time, come back leaving the job. So, this will be a interference of line of fate by the head.

The study of fate line in a person's hand gives clear picture of his life and ups and downs in his life. This is the most important line while studying palm. It is like index for the whole life of the individual. Any change in health, education, job, business, travel, marriage etc. which affects the individual's fate will be reflected in the Line of Fate.

LINE OF FATE

The line of Fate, also called Line of Destiny or Saturnian, is the centre upright line on the hand. The Line of Fate is the line which starts from the base of the hand (Bracelets) and goes to Second finger.

The adjoining picture shows Line of Fate (a b), Mount of Venus (c) and Mount of Moon (d).

This line shows all the ups and downs in the fate of the person. Fate includes career, studies, good period, not so good period, interferences etc. The line of fate relates to all worldly affairs, to our success or failure, to the people who influence our career, whether such influences be beneficial or otherwise, to the obstacles and barriers in our way, and the ultimate result of our career.

The type of hand plays important role in deciding the impact of the line of fate. The line of fate, even in the most successful hands, is less marked on the Elementary, Square and the Spatulate hands. Incase of Philosophic, Conic or Psychic hands, the very well marked line of fate will not mean the same good fate as less marked line in elementary, squre or spatulate hands.

The line of fate may rise from the line of life, the wrist, the Mount of Luna, the line of head, or even the line of heart.

If the line of Fate rises from the line of life, and from that point on it is strong, the success and riches will be won by personal merit. Incase the line of fate is marked low down near the wrist and tied down by the side of the life line, it tells that the early portion of the subject's life will be sacrificed to the wishes of parents or relatives.

I saw the life of fate in one of a person who is Engineer from a very reputed college. His father had died when he was young. He was brought up by his maternal uncle. He had an elder brother. After he came into the job he had taken the responsibility of the family. He got a good job as Engineer in the same company where his father was working before he died. He had two sisters and he had arranged and spent the amount for the sisters' marriage. So, after his marriage and birth of two children still he hardly he had the resources to look after his wife and children, although he had good earnings. His Fate line was tied with the Life line from the age of 20 to 32 years of age. After 32 years of age, he could look after his wife and children like other normal families i.e. after marrying both his sister and repaying the debts taken for their marriage and for his marriage. Although his job was good and he was doing well in his job, his fate line was not like other successful Engineers.

When the Line of Fate rises from the Mount of Luna, fate and success will be more or less dependent on the fancy and caprice of other people eg. Public figures. This may also reflect that the person will gain from connections from abroad or he will gain from long distance travels.

When the Line of Fate rises from the line of head, and that line is well marked, the success will be won late in the life after a hard struggle and through the person's own talents. When it rises from the line of heart the success will be achieved extremely late in life, after a difficult struggle.

When the line rises with one branch from the base of Luna and other from Venus, the sub ject's destiny will sway between imagination on one hand and love and passion on the other.

When the line of Fate is broken or irregular or with island or cross or it is cut by another line, the career will be uncertain with ups and downs of success and failure.

The Line of Life (Contd.)

I was travelling as I had gone to India and could not write blog for last 23 days.



The length of the life line does not directly indicate the life span of the person. A short life line does not indicate a short life, just as a long life line does not guarantee a long life.

The picture on the right is taken from the book "Language of the Hand" written by Cheiro, very famous Palmist and author of books on Palmistry.

It is not possible to tell the age when the person will die, just by seeing the life line. Further, it is not proper for the palmist to predict the age at the time of death. If the date is predicted, the person starts worrying about the death much before the predicted date and lives in tension and the death may not occur at that age. The lines do change and the predictions made at one time may not hold good later. Further the prediction based only on the life line may not be accurate. The age at the time of death is to be calculated based on lines in both the hands.

The life line. heart line and head line are formed when the baby is in the womb of the mother. When the child is born he will have life line, head line and heart line. It is interesting to note that these lines are made before the baby starts making any movements. This also disproves the theory that the lines are made because of the 'creases' made in the hands due to the folding (bending) of the hands. The three main lines appear in the hand when the child is born, much before he starts any movements.

If the life line runs close to the thumb (like hugging the thumb), the person will be lethargic, listless and lacking in energy. Conversely, if the life line comes well across the palm encircling the Mount of Venus (place mentioned as love in the picture above), the person will have plenty of energy and will be more vibrant and enthusiastic about life.

If the life line goes away from the Mount of Venus and enters the area of Mount of Moon (opposite to the Mount of Venus), and then the line returns to the base of Mount of Venus, the person will travel a lot. Incase the life line enters the area of Mount of Moon and ends there, the person will die in foreign land.

If the life line and fate line are joined during their journey, the person will hold the responsibilities of his family or will be very attached to the family i.e. parents, brother, sisters etc. .

The life line should be clear and well marked. Incase there is island, triangle, intersection by a small line or chain etc. in the life line, the person will face difficulties during that period. The square indicate that the person will have ill health or accident and will be saved. The island shows that the person will suffer from ill health or will have accident that will affect his life during the period the island exists. If there is any line intersecting the life line (cutting the line), there will be interference from someone which will affect the life of the person. During the early part of the life line, many a times we notice islands, chain formation or cutting. This denotes illness during young age as the child is weak in constitution.

The fine lines running parallel to the life line on the Mount of Venus are supportive in nature. The line of Mars (also called Sister life line) is the distinct line running parallel to the life line. The period during which it appears, the person will receive support from some individual in the form of advice and help, may be monetary or otherwise.

The lines running perpendicular to the life line are the lines which interfere with the life of the person, incase they intersect the life line. Incase there are perpendicular lines which do not cut the life line, other persons will try to interfere in the subject's life, but will not succeed.

When there are many fine lines in the mount of Venus (Mount adjacent to the thumb), making it like a grille the person will worry a lot.



The predictions based on line of life has to be made alongwith signs at the same time on the other lines. Incase there is an island in the life line and at the same age there is a cut or island in the Fate line, the person will suffer from ill health or accident and that will affect his career also.



In one instance, a person had an island in his life line. At the same time the fate line was very light (dim) indicating that the period will not be good. I predicted that the person will have accident and will have some injury and that he will take about two years to recover. He will be saved. I had predicted that the instance will take place about two years later. After about two years, I got a call from the person informing that while he was crossing the road,, he was hit by a car running at a fast speed and was thrown about 10 feet away. He had injuries all over his bodies, particularly in hands, shoulders, legs. I went to his house about two months later and found that he was not able to move his leg on his own and he had clamps on his feet and was having problems in moving one arm. He told me that as soon as he got consciousness next day after the accident, his wife told him that I had predicted the accident and that there is nothing to worry since I had predicted that he will be saved. This accident also affected his business which was shown in his Fate line.

03/10 - The Line of Life

T H E L I N E O F L I F E









The line of Life (Life line) is the line which shows the longevity, health, temperament, success, accidents etc. Please see the picture above which shows the main lines in the palm and the fingers. The picture is taken from the book "Language of the Hand" by Cheiro, very famous author of Books on Palmistry.





The line of Life is one of the most important lines in the hand. It starts from below the Finger of Jupiter and encircles Mount of lower Mars and Mount of Venus and reaches the base of the hand.

The line of life should be long, narrow and deep without breaks, crosses and irregularities. Such hand indicates long life, good health and vitality.



When the line of life starts from below the Mount of Jupiter (mount below the index finger) instead of from the side of the hand, it shows that the life has been one of ambition.



If the line of life is closely connected with the line of Head at the start, the life is guide by reason and intelligence. The owner of such hand will be extra sensitive with anything which affects him.



If there is medium space between line of Life and line of Head, the person is more free to carry out his plans and ideas. It denotes energy and go-ahead spirit. If the space is very wide, the person will have too much confidence. It also denotes that the person will be foolhardy, impulsive, hasty and lacks reasoning.

When the line of life, line of head and line of heart are joined together at the commencement, it shows that the person runs into danger and catastrophe. This also shows that the person lacks his perception in his dealings with others.

Many persons have their life line with lots of chains at the commencement of the line. This shows that the persons had suffered bad health in the initial part of his life. If there is a break in the life line, but another line starts near it but before the first line ends. It shows that there will be accident or ill health which may threaten life, but the person will survive.

There is an instance where a person came to show his palm to me. His life line was having a break and just before this break there was another life line starting. There was no such break in his left hand. This sign was seen in his palm almost the age at which he was showing his palm. I told him that he might have already met or would meet an accident or will have ill health very soon which may threaten his life, but he will survive. I told him that he was about to die at that age, but would be saved. He was surprised with this prediction. He told me of the instance that took place in his life few weeks before.

He told me that he was having a boy of about 15 years as servant in his house. He was not happy with the boy as he was not working properly. One late evening he told him to leave the work. As the boy was young he advised him to leave the house next morning as it was very late hour for the boy to go out of the house. His family consisted of his wife and two sons. The sons used to sleep in the adjacent room. He normally would not bolt his room from inside as the two sons aged 5 and 9 would come in their room during the night. That night however he did latched his room from inside.

Somewhere during the night he heard the scream of his younger son. Both husband and wife went to children's room. They saw that the servant was sitting on top of the elder son and was slitting open the son's neck with a knife. The younger son was struggling with the servant and was yelling for help. This person overpowered the servant. The servant was handed over to the police immediately.

Next morning the servant confessed to the police that he wanted to kill the master as he had removed him from the job, but since their room was locked, he decided to kill his elder son,
who was sleeping.

The line of life showed that the person escaped the death though his body was not even touched by the servant.

02/10 - Palmistry - Occult Science

I got some comments and reactions to my blog posted on April 22. It was encouraging.

Astrology and Palmistry are complimentary to each other and objective of both these branches of Occult science is the same. The palmistry is physical and Astrology is mathematical part of the occult science. The predictions from such horoscope and palm reading will have huge similarities.

The advantage of Palmistry is that everybody carries palm with him. Incase of astrology the horoscope is required. For Astrology, the horoscope is required to be correct and many times the date and time of birth is not correctly known to individuals and the horoscope, therefore, can not be made correctly. People at times make wrong horoscopes to suit their requirements, e.g. for matching horoscopes for marriage. This results in all predictions going wrong. Further, there are many stars affecting the predictions which can go wrong if the effect of all the stars are not taken into account when making calculations.


Incase of Palmistry, the predictions are not dependant on the data to be made by others. It is available on the palm of each individual. The predictions made by palmist depends on his knowledge, calculations and expertise.


The disadvantage of the Palmistry is that the individual whose palm is to be read has to be present. Incase of Astrology, from the horoscope the predictions can be made without the presence of the person concerned.

There are many ways in which people do predictions. There are people who do face reading, people make predictions from Numerology, Tarot cards, 'Prashnam', 'Chhaya', 'sixth sense' etc. etc.


These are all 'Occult sciences'. Occult science means study of deeper spiritual reality that extends beyong pure reason and physical sciences. The word Occult has many uses in normal English language. It means knowledge of paranormal as opposed to knowledge of measurable.

In Palmistry we study the lines in the palm. In addition, we see the mounts, fingers, thumbs, nails, skin of the palm to study and make predictions.

Most important lines in the hand are:

Life line, Fate line, Heart line, Head line, Marriage line, Travel line etc.

We will try to understand the importance of these lines and also minor lines in the hand and mounts etc. in the hand in subsequent blogs.

01/10 - Introduction

Yes, it is a new world. World of Weblog. I am entering after being encouraged by others that it is a very good tool to interact with others.



I am planning to discuss the palmistry through these blogs. My interest in palmistry started when I was in school and during the vacations I used to read the books on Palmistry by Cheiro and other authors. This continued through the years and now for last >45 years I am interested in Palmistry and have been reading the palms.



This is a very good science. It may look awkward at first to hear that this is science, but it is science and logic. To read a palm is an art also.



There is an instance mentioned in a famous book where an experience of the author is mentioned to show that palmistry is science. The instance is as follows:



A person came to the author to show his palm. He extended his left palm in front of the author (palmist) who requested him to show the right palm. The person refused to show the right palm and insisted that palmist should see his left palm only. The palmist told him that he can see from the left palm that the person was involved in some war and again requested him to show the right palm so that he could predict in detail.



The person then extended his right palm with lot of difficulty and kept it on the table in front of the palmist. There were no lines in the right palm. There were lines in the left palm. Then the person told the palmist that he was involved in the war as soldier and he was hit by a bullet in his right shoulder and his nerve connections with the hand had broken. Though his hand was there it was artificially connected to the body. Since there were no nerve connections with the hand, there were no lines in the palm.



This shows that the palmistry is a science and the lines are connected to the brain and the lines do change as per the thinking of the person. The lines in the palm change continuously, though very slowly.



To read a palm is also an art. Over the years, with experience, a palmist masters this art. The lines are in such small area and the deviations, breaks etc. are miniature in size. It requires experience to calculate the age at that juncture in the small area, which is an art, in addition to the knowledge of the rules of palmistry.
